There is a lot of misunderstanding or confusion regarding the expiry of the translation in relation to a date written or printed with the NAATI stamp.
Firstly, the newer stamps issued are rectangular:

It is not compulsory for the translator or translation company to use these stamps although they are encouraged to.
With regards to the valid to date in the new stamp, or the expires date in the older stamps, this shows the period of validity of the credential of the translator. This is not an expiry date for the translation itself.
As long as the translation is prepared within the period of validity of the translator’s credential, then it is NAATI‘s opinion that the translation should be accepted. The accuracy of the translation or the validity of the translation is not affected by any date within the NAATI stamp. The only exception is if there is an external requirement that the translation must be completed with X months from a certain submission date. Such a requirement is not existing for Australia visa or migration related translation submission.
